Editorial standards
A practical framework for accuracy, attribution and accountable technology coverage.
Original reporting and aggregation
Original reporting is written or commissioned by Crooli Signal, carries a byline and is reviewed before publication. Aggregated items are clearly labelled as external stories and point to the original publisher. We never reproduce a complete third-party article.
Sources and attribution
We prefer primary documents, direct interviews and verifiable data. Claims inherited from another publication are attributed and linked. Press releases are labelled and treated as claims, not independent confirmation.
Human editorial review
Nothing imported from an RSS feed is automatically published. Drafts, summaries and changes require a human editor to assess accuracy, context, rights and presentation.
Appropriate use of AI
AI may assist with research organisation, summarisation and draft preparation. Publication always requires human review. AI output is not accepted as a source, and quotations are checked against recordings or primary text.
Corrections
Material errors are corrected promptly with a dated note describing what changed. Minor spelling or style changes that do not alter meaning may be fixed without a note.
Sponsored content and conflicts
Commercial relationships are labelled prominently. Editorial staff disclose material conflicts and do not accept coverage conditions from sources or advertisers.
Review methodology
Reviews disclose the duration and conditions of testing, software version, price at review and whether a manufacturer supplied the product. Verdicts reflect use, repairability, support and value—not a spec-sheet total.
